Albay activists erupt protests against corruption in Legazpi

Numerous progressive groups, student activists, and concerned citizens assembled at the Battle of Legaspi Monument, Legazpi City to protest against corruption on the 53rd Martial Law Commemoration day on Sunday, September 21. The Albay Movement Against Corruption (AMAC) fronted the movement that started at the Redemptorists Church for a mass followed by the “Walk Against Corruption” rally through the city to the monument.

Students, councils decry unauthorized entry of police trainees at BUCSSP

Several unauthorized police trainees entered the Bicol University College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (BUCSSP) - Daraga Campus, intimidating student participants and college sports players during the institution’s 21st Founding Anniversary on the afternoon of September 10. The College Student Council (CSC) and student-led organizations are demanding better security protocols within the institution to prevent any forms of harassment and external surveillance to the stakeholders of the university.

BU Labels draws flak over 'lack of accountability' on delayed merch

The official merchandise arm of Bicol University - University Student Council (BU-USC), BU Labels, received multiple complaints from students demanding accountability over unclaimed pre-ordered items such as jackets, t-shirts, and caps, which were pre-ordered last February. Students took to student forums to express frustration over the prolonged delays, which only started after BU Labels’ Facebook page remained inactive since June 13, with its last post announcing the claiming of Fornax Windbreakers.

BUCM stude named Top 2 in prestigious nat'l award for med students

In a defining moment for medical education and student leadership in the country, Jerralson Paguio of Bicol University College of Medicine (BUCM) was named Top 2 in the “Natatanging Mag-aaral ng Medisina ng Pilipinas 2026” during the awarding ceremony on April 11. The award, one of the highest recognitions for Filipino medical students nationwide, placed Paguio among the most distinguished future physicians in the Philippines.
